Willie Monroe jr posted a statement to his twitter account and a 14 minute video saying he will sue his opponent, Saunders’ promoter Frank Warren and The British Boxing Board of Control.
Yesterday Saunders and Willie Monroe Jr had just completed their weigh in and were taking part in the head-to-head when Saunders’ son stepped up in front of Monroe Jr, punched him in the groin and then kicked him.
In the statement Willie Monroe jr wrote: “If I’m not compensated something for being punched and kicked in the balls by Saunders’ son, I’m going to sue Frank Warren, The BB of C and Saunders because I’ve been trying not to do face off’s and get into any confrontation the whole time I’ve been here because I know Saunders wants to sabotage the fight.
“Frank Warren kept insisting that we do so look what happened.
“They said I didn’t wanna face off because I was scared and the only thing I was scared of is them trying to find a way to weasel out of the fight.
“I’m too close to winning to sit here and let them take it from me on some sneaky stuff.”
The incident at the weigh in is just one of a list of incidents that the American southpaw is extremely displeased.

He gave account of how he has been racially and physically attacked since he landed last Thursday and said “you can only imagine the things that have been going on that haven’t been caught on camera.”
Willie Monroe jr continued: “I, my team have gotten Gypsy threats and racial slurs thrown at us for an entire week, that’s not something a fighter should have to deal with, especially in 2017.
“I will sue if something isn’t done about this. My team and lawyers fully have my back so to Frank, Billy and the BBBoC for allowing this to happen, we will have to hash this out one way or another, had the shoe been on the other foot, you guys would try to hang me out to dry.”
