If you are a lover of game, especially the PlayStation Vita then, this Sony new handheld Nintendo Switch look alike is absolutely for you.
The PS producers Sony has filed a patent for what appears to resemble a portable handheld system, and it features some Nintendo Switch designs.
It was spotted by NeoGAF user ponpo. It was clearly filed in 2015, but was just recently made public.
This new patent doesn’t have the exact cool appearance of the PS Vita, but it does feature few similar designs for a good ergonomic feel. In a way, it looks like a tablet device sitting on a controller mount. It certainly looks more similar to a Gamepad Controller for the Razer Edge Pro Gaming Tablet. This Sony new patent tablet also resembles a phone, by the look of the patent photos, it’s clear that very little or non of its parts are removable.
This new patent still remains a shock to Sony handheld fans. Especially after the head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, stated in 2015 that with the advent of mobile phones, the climate for dedicated gaming handhelds was not healthy.
More-over, the PS Vita is still cherished and loved because of its treasure trove of hidden Japanese titles, but it still hasn’t sold well. Since it was released in late 2011 in Japan, the PS Vita has made a total sale of 15.25 million units. That not close to the sales previous Sony handheld. The Portable PlayStation, which sold 80.82 million units. Even compared to the Nintendo 3DS, with 63.82 million units sold, the PS Vita has not kept pace.
