Zambia’s Rainford Kalaba, right, vies for the ball with Nigeria’s Ogenyi Onazi in a CAF World Cup qualifier

Again Nigerians overcome what would have turned out to be a calamity for them, by starting their 2018 World Cup Qualification with a 2-1 victory against the Zambian side. The Zambians hosted the Super Eagles in their country, in a World Cup Qualifier match scheduled to hold in Russia. At first the Nigeria team were having little fund issues but it was settled by the Nigeria Government.

The government paid for their flight to Zambia, and grace rewarded their hard work with a convincing win in Zambia. Well, their previous matches has killed most of the fans spirit, I just hope this squad mixed with young bright boys re-ignite that spirit again. As fans were filled with joy because of the squads tremendous win.

Kudos to the new coach ‘Rohr’, who I think is doing a great job in reviving the team.

How Nigeria Youth Drowned The Zambians

The Nigeria side started their lineup with a feature of six 23 age players.  4 players of about 20 years and below, then the mixture of about 26 and 28 years old players. The best part of it were the paired two World rated stars. They killed it, they proved their potentials, and I believe that they going to do well in the nearest future.

Man City’s Kelechi Iheanacho showed the world why he is one of the world’s top attacking talents.

Rohr Made A Remarkable Statement Following His Teams Victory

Though, the Nigeria team manager Rohr is a quiet type. He doesn’t like talking much. He made some few pompous but impressive statements. It was as if he was waiting for the right time to boast.  His features were incredible, dropping the assisting captain Ahmed Musa, with the regular starter Musa Mohammed, he dropped them because they’ve not being in their best form, so, it right to say that he’s not a sentimental coach.

Rohr also featured the previously low performed striker, Brown Ideye, I think it was because of his recent form in his club. He didn’t do very well in the game, but maybe he will pick up with time.

Lets Talk About The Zambians Side

The Zambians on their own were amazing. Initially traveling to a host country is usually something else, as you have to pass through mental and physical ordeal, which mostly gotten from the host fans and even environment.

To worsen it all, a worn out motel may even be assigned to the visiting team. They just have to endure all this painfuller harsh condition. CAF have made some changes regarding this.  Now the visiting teams will responsible for the transport and accommodation.

The Zambians showed a lovely courtesy, as they applauded the Nigeria players right outside their stadium, when they about to board this bus, the behavior of this Zambians were awesome, they didn’t take the defeat to their head, some took as a brotherly match, kudos to them.
